Our central office is in Kabul, so I'll do some meet and greets and get to know how things work here. My replacement doesn't leave Kandahar until June, so there is no rush. We get to convoy around to different sites and enjoy meeting with the Afghan National Army.

We get to ride in the mean new MATVs sometimes and HMMVWs, but mostly we drive non-tactical vehicles that are armored. If you noticed the pants are not bloused, because we wear flame-retardant uniforms, socks, t-shirts, underwear, gloves and head coverings in case there is a blast that causes the vehicle to burn...keeps the uniform from melting to you.
We travel six days a week to various locations throughout the day. We work mostly with US and Afghan forces to assist them in building a better National Army.
