Rainy Day

Today was a normal day. We went to meet with the Afghan Colonel from approximately 0900 to 1500. We ate lunch with the Colonel and it was mainly Afghan rice, a bean style soup (looked a little like black-eyed peas, unleavened bread, mutton, bananas, and various vegetables with a sprinkling of french fries on top of the vegetables. The lunch is a little bland, but the food is good. It usually doesn't change from day to day, since we've eaten there a few times and had the same each time. It is a heck of a lot better than an MRE and we enjoy being with our Afghan partners.
