Sandstorm!!! Ugh!!!
Here's what it looks like during a mild sandstorm. They'll get worse as it gets hotter. Nothing like grit in our teeth and sand in your eyes.

Yikes. Reminds me of the sandstorm scene in the Generation Kill miniseries. Are there a lot of sandstorms in the summer in Afghanistan?

I don't know about Kandahar, but we're north-east from there and get plenty of dust storms accompanying passing cold fronts. Dust, dust everywhere...
